Jylan Khalil, FCPA, FCA Education and qualifications Chartered Accountant, 1981 Fellow Chartered Accountant (Ontario), 2016 Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Accounting and Finance, York University, 1978 As vice-president, Precertification Education, Jylan is responsible for the strategic direction and operational oversight for the development of CPA Canada’s pre-certification education programs and courses. She also supports CPA Canada’s Evaluations team and provides ongoing leadership for the work related to international assessments. Throughout her career, Jylan has assumed several positions at CPA Canada. She was previously director, Evaluations and International Assessment, before taking on the role of interim vice-president, Precertification Education. Prior to joining CPA Canada, Jylan taught accounting at the University of Calgary and York University. Jylan was a member of the Certification Steering Committee, which designed and rolled out the new CPA Certification Program, including the Professional Education Program (PEP) and CPA preparatory courses (formerly known as the Prerequisite Education Program. She played a lead role in overseeing the Assessment Task Force, which developed the structure of the PEP module examinations and the national Common Final Examination. These assessments are designed to test technical proficiency and business competencies of future professional accountants. Jylan also supported the CPA Transition Working Group, which was responsible for establishing the bridging requirements for legacy students transitioning to the CPA program.
