Cairine is responsible for growing CPA Canada’s community outreach through its award-winning Financial Literacy Program, and leading member and employee volunteer engagement initiatives. 

With Cairine’s leadership, CPA Canada became the first non-U.S. entity to be named Organization of the Year in the non-profit sector by the Institute for Financial Literacy.

Cairine frequently speaks on financial literacy at conferences in Canada and abroad. She was appointed to the federal government’s National Steering Committee on Financial Literacy in July 2014. She also is on Startup Canada’s Financial Literacy Committee, which will advise the government on financial literacy for entrepreneurs.

Cairine has 35 years of experience in product and brand management, general administration and knowledge development at organizations such as Diageo, Gillette, Electronic Data Systems, the National Post and Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA). Prior to being named vice-president of Corporate Citizenship, she was CICA’s vice-president, Member Services for 15 years.
