This holiday season is definitely looking brighter than last year for Canadian consumers.

According to the 2021 CPA Canada Holiday Spending Survey, Canadians are far more optimistic than they were a year ago, with 45 per cent of those surveyed (compared to 33 per cent last year) saying they’re hopeful for the holidays.

Just over one-third (35 per cent) of respondents say they will be doing the majority of their holiday gift shopping in-person, versus 30 per cent last year. However, ongoing supply chain issues mean shoppers will need to stay ahead of the game to get their hands on hot ticket and sale items, which could be in short supply.

When it comes to tech gifts for your favourite CPA, there’s no shortage of ideas that will make life a little easier and, hopefully, a bit more fun. Here are a few suggestions.

For accountants on the go, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite is a perfect lightweight accessory that delivers top notch visuals for on-the-spot presentations and conversations. You can also stream videos, store content, browse and take written notes. Featuring 2000x1200 resolution and a five-megapixel front camera and eight- megapixel rear camera, this mediapad’s 10.4-inch display gives plenty of space to put your best face forward.

You might think all scanners are created equal, but the Epson WorkForce ES-55R will prove you wrong. The hard-working portable and mobile single sheet feed printer/scanner helps to organize and import data from receipts (receipt management software is included) to software such as QuickBooks, Quicken, TurboTax and more.

Whether you’re listening to a TED Talk or leading a virtual team meeting, skip the tangled cords with these Google Pixel in-ear sound isolating wireless headphones, which also come in a new shade of olive green.

Keep the cord-free theme going with a three-in-one wireless charging station that will help keep any desk (or kitchen counter) tidier. Ideal for gadget-loving CPAs, the station has a spot for a range of devices from smartphones to wearable items such as earbuds and smart watches.

Mix work and play with the ViewSonic M1 LED mini pocket projector. At four-by-four inches, the portable projector allows you to display multimedia content, including presentations—or even a family movie night—in nearly any location. A long-lasting battery ensures hours of use before needing to recharge.
