Tax at CPA Canada: Get involved

Thinking about volunteering for a CPA Canada tax committee or joining the In-Depth Tax Course faculty? Discover how to build your credentials, give back to our profession, and learn and grow, personally and professionally.

Meeting peers, sharing experiences, networking and contributing to the profession: these are the top reasons for volunteering with CPA Canada, according to a survey of volunteers. In fact, satisfaction with their overall experience is so high that 99 per cent of volunteers surveyed say they would volunteer again.

In the area of tax, there are lots of ways you can get involved — from paid teaching positions to volunteer work re-thinking tax education, creating resources for tax practitioners or advocating for positive change in Canadian tax law and administration.

Share your tax knowledge and expertise

CPA Canada has 20 CPA-only and joint CPA/Canada Revenue Agency committees in tax specialties and education, along with ad hoc task forces, subcommittees and working groups on topics like tax technology and tax practice risk management. Through these groups, over 100 tax volunteers devote their time and skills to developing sound tax policies and administrative practices for Canadians and Canadian businesses. Find out more about our committees.

New opportunities to volunteer with these tax activities come up from time to time, and we look to fill them with high-calibre professionals with energy, commitment and willingness to share their expertise and experience.
