Hello, retirement!

Retirement is something we all dream of. But just thinking about getting to this stage can cause anxiety for those who are less than prepared. Most of us plan to save, but sometimes life just gets in the way.
The Procrastinator’s Guide to Retirement: How You Can Retire in 10 Years or Less is the perfect resource for people who are nearing retirement and want to be prepared. Published by CPA Canada and written by David Trahair, CPA, CA, the book is also a good resource for anyone seeking to avoid the stress of retirement planning.

The big kickoff

At two book launches last month in Western Canada, audiences eagerly anticipating retirement but unsure how to get there packed the event spaces.

“There’s an incredible amount that can be done to secure a comfortable retirement in 10 years or less,” says Trahair. “All you have to do is play your cards right.”

Events in Surrey, BC, and Calgary, Alta., buzzed with excitement as people asked Trahair about reaching retirement. Trahair’s answers, along with spreadsheets and practical tips, can be found in the book.

The Procrastinator’s Guide to Retirement is available online at the CPA Store. CPA Canada members can purchase the book at a discounted price of $16.99 (regularly $19.99) until April 30, 2016.
