On April 1, 2015, Stephenie Fox was appointed vice-president, Standards.

On April 1, 2015, Stephenie Fox was appointed vice-president, Standards, for CPA Canada.

Prior to her appointment, Stephenie was technical director, International Public Sector Accounting Standards Board, an independent standard setting board of the International Federation of Accountants. In her role, she was responsible for managing the standard-setting activities of the Board, including all aspects of developing and finalizing International Public Sector Accounting Standards.

She was the Board’s public representative and liaison with international stakeholders, including the World Bank, International Monetary Fund, and the OECD, as well as with staff of other global standard-setting boards, notably the International Accounting Standards Board and the International Auditing and Assurance Board. “Canada has an international reputation as a strong, independent standard setter and as a leader in a principle-based approach to standard setting”, says Stephenie. “We’ll continue to represent the strong Canadian voice and perspective in international standards development.”

Stephenie also worked as a senior reviewer at the Canadian Public Accountability Board and prior to that, she spent 12 years as a principal working with the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants. She started her career at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
