Meet Mr. Barry Macdonald, second vice-chair, CPA Canada British Columbia (CPABC)

Members, students and candidates are invited to attend a special presentation with Mr. Barry Macdonald, FCPA, FCA, second vice-chair of CPABC, as he provides an update to members and students about the accounting profession in Canada and Hong Kong.

Topics include:

  • the status of integration of the accounting profession in BC and Canada
  • an update on CPABC’s regulatory regime, key regulatory and standards changes
  • an overview of the marketing, recruitment and public affairs initiatives undertaken to promote and build the new brand
  • a discussion of CPA education programs, including the recent Common Final Examination (CFE) results, the CPA Professional Education Program (CPA PEP), the Advanced Certificate in Accounting and Finance (ACAF) and CPA preparatory courses

Xmas visit to St. James Settlement (Elderly Care Centre)

Christmas is just around the corner, and in the spirit of giving and reaching out to the local community, the CPA Canada – HK Chapter is once again proud to sponsor a Christmas celebration luncheon at St. James Settlement. The event gives our members an opportunity to reach out to elders in Hong Kong and to celebrate Christmas with them in a festive environment. In addition, our event will also include celebrating those elders who have birthdays in the month of December. What better way to make your holiday season more meaningful than by sharing the spirit of giving and compassion?

Spaces are limited. We encourage those who are interested to register early so participants can meet in advance to discuss and share ideas on how to make the most of this event. We look forward to seeing you!
