CPA Canada Hong Kong Chapter and PricewaterhouseCoopers Hong Kong proudly co-host this 2018 business forum: Corporate Transformation in the Innovation Era.

You are invited to join an informative dialogue with Harvard Business School Professor Stuart Gilson and seasoned corporate executives, including John Lo, chief financial officer, Tencent Group and Hamilton Cheng, executive director, Chow Tai Fook Jewellery Group.

In this era of new economy fuelled by digital transformation and disruptive technology, corporations are transforming their existing business to maximize resilience and create synergies while building a powerful growth engine through innovation. Professor Gilson will highlight the restructuring challenges that Chinese companies will face over the next 10 years and provide insights on creating value through corporate restructuring. A number of distinguished speakers will share their experience in starting a new business model or re-inventing the existing business to embrace technology, innovation and entrepreneurship.

Speakers for the event include:

Stuart Gilson, Steven R. Fenster Professor of Business Administration at Harvard Business School, and former chairman of the finance unit
Professor Gilson’s research, teaching, and consulting focuses on the financial, business and legal strategies that companies use to revitalize their business, improve performance and create value when facing significant financial and operating challenges. He is an expert on corporate restructuring, valuation, business bankruptcy, credit analysis and financial strategy.

John Lo, Chief Financial Officer, Tencent Group
Mr. Lo joined Tencent Group in 2004 and served as financial controller from 2004 to 2008. Mr. Lo was appointed as Tencent Group’s vice-president and deputy chief financial officer in 2008 and was appointed as chief financial officer in May 2012. Prior to joining Tencent Group, Mr. Lo worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers as senior manager.

Hamilton Cheng, FCPA, FCCA. CFA
Mr. Cheung joined Chow Tai Fook Jewellery Group in 2004 and was appointed as an executive director in July 2011. He currently leads and oversees the group’s financial management, investor relations, IT governance and business analytics functions. He also serves as a joint company secretary of the group.

Jennifer Ho
Ms. Ho is a partner at PwC Hong Kong and leads the firm’s Risk Assurance practice in China South (Hong Kong and Guangdong). Jennifer has extensive experience in providing clients in Hong Kong/China, Canada and the U.S. with a range of market leading regulatory, information security and risk management services and third party assurance to enhance trust of organizations operating in the digital world.
