CPA Canada Barbados chapter board: 2018-2019 Chair Oliver Jordan, MBA, CFE, CPA, CA Oliver is a partner and head of Advisory Services with PwC East Caribbean, based in Barbados. As a former managing director for CIBC FirstCaribbean International Bank’s operations in Barbados, past president of the Barbados Bankers’ Association, past CEO of the Barbados Tourism Authority and former treasurer of the Caribbean Hotel Association, he has an extensive background in two of the most important sectors in the Eastern Caribbean — financial services and tourism. Oliver has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Toronto and an MBA from Schulich School of Business at York University in Toronto, and obtained his accounting designation in 1991. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Barbados, a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners and a Licensed Trustee under the Barbados Insolvency Act. Vice-chair Lisa Padmore, B.com., CPA, FCGA Lisa is a partner with Ernst & Young Barbados, with over 22 years in public practice. She is currently president of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Barbados (ICAB), having been a practising member of ICAB since 1998. Lisa holds a Bachelor of Commerce in accounting and management information systems from McGill University in Montreal, Quebec. She obtained her accounting designation in 1995 and then served as a director on the board of CGA Caribbean for two years. Lisa was granted her fellowship award in 2009. She has been a director for the Cricket Franchise of Barbados Inc. (a subsidiary of the Barbados Cricket Association) since 2014, has served as vice-president of finance and administration of the Barbados Chamber of Commerce and Industry from 2004 to 2008, and is an active member of the Empire Club and Christ the King Anglican Church. Secretary Mark Sutherland, CPA, CGA, B.Sc., CAMLI PA Mark is a retired finance and compliance professional. His work experiences, inclusive of audit and assurance, span in excess of 30 years in the financial services sector. He was employed in the insurance industry, both on-shore and off-shore in senior accounting and management positions. In addition to holding the Chartered Professional Education (CPA) designation, Mark earned a Bachelor in Accounting from UWI, he has also been awarded the CAMLI Practicing Associate (PA) designation. In 1993, Mark became a member with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Barbados (ICAB), he was granted his fellowship with the institute in 2004. To enhance his professional skill set, Mark became a member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries & Administrators of Canada (ICSA) in 2001. Treasurer Alexander Augustine, M.Sc., CPA, CGA, CMA Alexander is a project analyst in the Economic Infrastructure Division within the projects department of the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB). He holds a B.Sc. (Hons.) in economics and management from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus, and an M.Sc. in finance from the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, New York. He also holds the designations Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) from Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada, Certified General Accountant (CGA) from the Certified General Accountants Association of Canada, and Certified Management Accountant (CMA) from the Society of Management Accountants of Canada. Prior to joining CDB, Alexander worked as manager, corporate finance, with the Eastern Caribbean Home Mortgage Bank and, prior to that, he was head of the accounting unit in the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank. Board Members Carolyn Barton, MBA, CPA, CMA Carolyn is the director of corporate services with the Barbados Revenue Authority (the Authority). She joined the Authority in 2015 after spending 15 years at the National Housing Corporation (NHC) as the financial controller. Prior to joining the NHC, Carolyn worked at the Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation (CBC), where she spent 20 years in roles of increasing responsibility until becoming the financial controller. In addition to holding a Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA) designation, Carolyn earned an MBA from Heriot-Watt University, a qualification from the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA) and a certificate in information technology from the University of the West Indies, Barbados. She serves as treasurer of the Board of Directors with the Barbados Workers’ Union Co-operative Credit Union (BWUCCU), and has served in several different capacities at the BWUCCU for over 12 years. Carolyn is an active volunteer, having served on a number of boards over the years. Allan B. Cruikshank, CPA, CA, TEP Allan is a managing director of Cruikshank Associates Inc., as well as managing director of Cruikshank Corporate services Ltd. Allan earned the Chartered Accountant (CA) designation in 1972 and is also a member of several professional organizations including the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Barbados, the Quebec Order of Chartered Professional Accountants, Life Member of Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario, Life Member of Chartered Professional Accountants of Alberta, the Offshore Institute, the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and the Association of Marine Arbitrators of Canada. Allan is a frequent lecturer on tax matters, having spoken at the Annual Convention of the Canadian Tax Foundation, International Fiscal Association, Canada Branch, Algonquin College and Concordia University. Vivian-Anne Gittens, MBA, FCPA, FCMA, BSc. Eng Vivian-Anne is the retired chief executive officer of the Nation Group of Companies. She is a trained management consultant and has previous experience as a management consultant, both locally and regionally. Vivian-Anne also has former experience as a project and investment analyst with development agencies within the region. In addition to holding the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation and being named a fellow, she holds a BSc in Engineering from UWI and an MBA from Ohio University, Athens, Ohio, USA. Vivian-Anne is an active volunteer, having served on a number of boards. Currently, she sits on the boards of RBC Royal Bank (Barbados) Limited; Power Care Inc.; and Aone Supermarkets Limited. Stacey Hem Lee, CPA, CMA, B.Sc. Mgmt Studies Stacey is the manager of corporate credit with Republic Bank (Barbados) Limited. Prior to her current role, she spent time in business advisory with Ernst & Young, engaging in a wide range of services including corporate acquisitions and divestitures. In addition to holding the Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) designation, Stacey holds a Bachelor Degree in Management Studies (First Class Honours) from UWI. She is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Barbados (ICAB). Nadini Persaud, Ph.D., M.Sc., CPA, CGA Nadini is a lecturer in project evaluation and is the program coordinator for the M.Sc. Project Management and Evaluation degree at the University of the West Indies (UWI), Cave Hill Campus, Barbados. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting (First Class Honours) from UWI, a Master of Science in Project Management and Evaluation (Distinction) from UWI, Canadian Certified General Accountants professional designation (CGA) (Gold Award), and a doctorate in evaluation (Western Michigan University). Nadini is an active member of the American Evaluation Association. She has served as program chair of the Costs, Effectiveness, Benefits and Economic Topical Interest Group since 2008 and on the Finance Advisory Board (chair 2014, member 2013, 2015). She is also an advisory board member of the Faster Forward Fund, a private foundation in the U.S. to accelerate the theory, practice and profession of evaluation. Felicia Sue, MBA, CPA, CGA, FCA Felicia is the financial controller with the Transport Board of Barbados. Prior to this, she worked for both public and private companies, including Erin Mills and Platinum Offshore Management Services Inc. Felicia has been a member of the Certified General Accountants Association of Canada (CGA) since 2002 and became a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Barbados in 2012. She has served as a director on the board of CGA Caribbean since 2011. Felicia is also currently serving as a member of the Public Sector Committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Barbados (ICAB). In addition to her accounting credentials, Felicia received a bachelor’s degree in accounting and economics from the University of the West Indies in 1992 and a Master of Business Administration from Laurentian University (Canada) in 2014.
