Effective January 1, 2018, the CPA profession will no longer deliver ACAF applied courses. The profession will continue to offer ACAF prerequisite requirements and technical courses through CPA preparatory courses, while all ACAF courses will be delivered through accredited programs and courses offered by post-secondary institutions (PSIs). Beginning September 2017, select PSIs will begin offering accredited ACAF applied courses. Contact your provincial/regional CPA body for additional information.

The purpose of the syllabus is to provide detailed information on the content of the courses that make up CPA Canada’s Advanced Certificate in Accounting and Finance (ACAF), as offered by the CPA profession. This document has been produced for current and potential students and those who advise them; education administrators, course authors, course examiners, committee members and resource people in the CPA education system; and others in the professional, academic and general community. While the accredited ACAF programs and courses offered by PSIs will cover equivalent course content offered by the profession, the syllabus for each course may differ. Be sure to refer to the syllabi provided by your PSI. Contact your provincial/regional CPA body to find out with PSIs offer accredited programs and courses.
