Deloitte’s workplace pulse survey

Deloitte conducted a public survey of more than 1,000 full-time employed adults to understand the challenges people face when it comes to well-being and how organizations can do a better job of addressing these challenges.

Companies can do more to foster a culture of well-being or risk losing talent according to Deloitte’s workplace pulse survey.

Key findings:

  • 32 per cent of employees say they’ve consistently placed work commitments over family/personal commitments in the past six months
  • 48 per cent of employees say their organization as a whole values their life outside of work
  • 59 per cent say co-workers have the greatest impact on employee happiness
  • 33 per cent of employees do not feel comfortable taking vacation days or personal time off
  • millennials were more likely than other generations to report that in the last six months they consistently placed work commitments over family/personal commitments
  • millennials were also more likely to report that knowing more about their CEO’s experiences in managing work and life would have a positive impact on their feelings about their workplace
