In-Depth tax course’s year 3 project winners

CPA Canada recognizes nine students in the In-Depth Tax Course for their outstanding Year 3 Projects.

The Year 3 Project is a cumulative assignment that students complete in their final year of Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada)’s In-Depth Tax Course. The project requires students to tie together the concepts and skills they have learned throughout the multi-year program.

For this year’s Year 3 Project, students worked in groups of three to prepare comprehensive tax case studies and detailed solutions, similar to those encountered throughout the program. The case studies had to include a unique scenario and the scenario had to be analyzed, documented and resolved.

From the 138 projects submitted, CPA Canada would like to honour the following nine students for their outstanding Year 3 Projects:

  • Sharon Ford, Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP
  • Jenna Schwartz, RSM Richter Chamberland, S.E.N.C.R.L./LLP
  • John-Joseph Lennard, Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg LLP
  • Angela Spanjers, Richards Buell Sutton LLP
  • Christine Muckle, Legacy Tax + Trust Lawyers
  • Drew Gilmour, Moodys Gartner Tax Law LLP
  • Andrea Stupino, Fuller Landau LLP
  • Denise Batac, Crowe Soberman LLP
  • Pavlo Fedorchuk, Fuller Landau LLP
In recognition of their efforts, these students were invited to attend the Canadian Tax Foundation’s (CTF) 67th annual conference, held in November 2015 in Montreal, and were presented with an award at CTF’s annual mentorship dinner.
