Budget 2014 earns silver medal

Read about Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada)’s comments and views on the 2014 federal budget, and download a copy of our 2014 Budget Brief.

The 2014 federal budget earned a silver medal from CPA Canada with the organization adopting a rating system appropriate for an Olympic year.

The government continues to employ fiscal restraint and remains on target to achieve a balanced budget by 2015-16. CPA Canada applauds the government’s approach to use expenditure controls rather than increasing the tax burden on Canadians. Strengthening its own finances better positions the government to help grow the Canadian economy. A solid fiscal base provides greater flexibility.

CPA Canada’s 2014 Budget Brief summarizes some of the key changes in Budget 2014 and their impact on Canadians and Canadian businesses.
