The Soccket II

Equipped with a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, the Sockket II soccer ball generates power while you play.

This is the only soccer ball around that generates power while you play. As the ball rolls, an internal gyroscope captures kinetic energy and stores it in a rechargeable lithium-ion battery. After just an hour of footie, there’s enough juice to plug in and run a 3-LED lamp (which comes included) for up to three hours, fully charge a smartphone or power up other low-draw electronic gear such as MP3 players, e-readers and handheld GPS units. Bonus:  for every Soccket sold, a child in a developing country is given access to an Uncharted Play product, which is a great gift of fun and renewable clean energy. Available in pink, green and blue.

Price: US$99
