Revolutionary idea

Jackie Kellestine has got wheels spinning in Dartmouth, NS, since opening Revolution Fitness last year.

Last year, to the great surprise of friends and family, Jackie Kellestine left public practice to open Revolution Fitness, a 3,400-sq.-ft. gym in Dartmouth, NS. A certified personal trainer and cycling instructor, Kellestine saw an entrepreneurial opportunity to provide a more personal alternative to the neighbourhood’s large fitness chains. Boldly situated between two GoodLife Fitness locations, Revolution already has more than 100 clients, thanks to smaller group classes and a familiarity that keeps everyone committed to their goals. “We hold people accountable,” says Kellestine. “If they miss a class, we call to find out where they are. They appreciate that. Sometimes we all need a little kick in the butt.”
