Poll of the month: Vax Populi — November 2014

The results of our reader poll on seasonal flu shots.

More than half (59%) of Canadian CPAs get an annual influenza vaccine, according to our latest reader poll. There is, however, a distinct difference between reader groups. Just 22% of francophone respondents say they usually get a flu shot, compared with 63% of anglophone readers. This was not simply a regional difference — in fact, all the anglophone respondents from Quebec indicate they habitually get the seasonal needle. There was a similar discrepancy regarding work habits when ill: two-thirds of anglophone respondents stay home to recuperate, while two-thirds of francophone readers say they typically go to the office even if they are sick.
