Who heard your PIN drop?

How many people reveal their PIN number to others?

In a recent survey, 19% of Canadians with a credit/debit card said, "Yes, I've revealed my PIN to someone."

  • 60% - My spouse
  • 30% - My child
  • 31% - Other family member
  • 9% - My friend
  • 9% - Co-worker, caregiver or housekeeper
  • 2% - Don't know/Refused

Source: The 2014 CPA Canada Fraud Survey was conducted by Harris/Decima by telephone in February 2014. The polling firm randomly telephoned adults 18 and older across Canada. Of the 983 respondents, 96% had a debit and/ or credit card and 172 (19%) had shared their PIN. A survey summary report is available at cpacanada.ca/2014fraudsurvey
