The UK has the highest concentration of high-earning bankers in the EU.

The UK boasts the largest concentration of high-earning bankers in Europe, according to a study by the European Banking Authority. In 2012, a total of 2,714 British bank staff pulled in remuneration of more than one million euros, compared with 212 in Germany, 177 in France, 109 in Italy, 100 in Spain and 15 in Belgium. During the same period, the average compensation of Britain's richest bankers rose by 35.7% to 1.95 million euros.
