And the Oscar goes to … the accountant?

Hugh Jackman plays up accountants at the Academy Awards.

Be honest. With awards season upon us, do you find yourself paying extra special attention when your fellow professionals — a.k.a. the “balloting leaders” from PwC — take the stage at the Oscars?

Well, you’re in good company. Academy Award-nominated actor and former Oscar host Hugh Jackman recently admitted the chief tabulators’ entrance was always a “big moment” in his family, given that his father was an accountant for Price Waterhouse in Australia.

“We used to stand up on our couch and cheer when the accountants came out,” he said at a press conference for his film Prisoners at the Toronto International Film Festival in September. “And I used to say to my dad, ‘One day, Dad, you’re going to be up there.’”
