Form T1135 – Foreign Income Verification: What’s changed? What’s stayed the same? What do you need to know to prepare these forms? This webinar will help answer these questions for fiscal 2014 and beyond.
We’ve seen great confusion and concern among tax preparers and investment advisors with the changes to Form T1135.
Meanwhile, taxpayers and their advisors struggle to comply with these rapidly changing, and often unclear, requirements, with the threat of financial penalties and extended reassessment periods always present.
In discussing international tax evasion, the 2013 Federal Budget announced there would be changes to Form T1135 – Foreign Income Verification. The first version of the new form was issued in June, 2013 with little, if any, consultation with investors, tax preparers or financial advisors. In the months since, we have seen two further amendments to the form, transitional rules and extended deadlines for 2013, various question and answer documents, removal of some options and addition of others for 2014.
