Assessing the financial health of not-for-profit organizations

Ensure your not-for-profit organization fulfills its mission by learning to evaluate its financial health.

Financial information is a key component to understanding an organization and its viability. Only when an organization is financially secure can it focus on achieving its mission.

In this online course, you will learn how to evaluate the financial health of charities and not-for-profit organizations. This includes examining the four main areas of financial health: solvency, liquidity, revenue reliance, and operating efficiency. You will also learn about the levels of information available for financial analysis for various stakeholders: external, management, and the board of directors.

You will also have the opportunity to evaluate the financial health of an organization and consider what additional information and analysis is required to complete the assessment.

Note: This course can be taken individually or as a part of Not-for-Profit Certificate II: Managing Strategy and Risk.

You will learn about:

  • identifying appropriate considerations when assessing the financial health and viability of an organization
