Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada) and the Canadian Public Accountability Board (CPAB) collaborated on the EAQ initiative to examine how to enhance audit quality in light of international reforms following the financial crisis.

Working together with the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD), CPA Canada and CPAB recently issued:

  • guidance and tools for audit committees to conduct:
    • an annual assessment of the external auditor’s performance
    • a periodic comprehensive review of the audit firm
  • Protocol for Audit Firm Communication of CPAB Inspection Findings with Audit Committees
