As president and chief executive officer of FP Canada, Tashia leads the organization in its purpose of championing better financial wellness for all Canadians.

In a career that spans 30 years, Tashia has held progressively senior roles in academia and in the financial services industry. Prior to joining FP Canada in May 2021, Tashia was senior vice-president, External Relations and Business Development at CPA Canada, with responsibility for CPA certification, member services, research, and the CPA profession’s award-winning Financial Literacy program.

An innovative leader who embraces change, Tashia led CPA Canada Foresight, a multi-stakeholder strategic initiative to reimagine the future of the accounting profession. Building on her extensive background in accounting education, as vice-president, Education, CPA Canada, Tashia also led the development of the inaugural CPA certification program for the newly unified accounting profession. Prior to joining CPA Canada, Tashia served as CEO of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Newfoundland and Labrador. Tashia began her career lecturing in accounting and finance at Memorial University of Newfoundland.

Tashia, a native of Newfoundland and Labrador, has an established track record of volunteering with organizations focused on women’s empowerment. She currently is vice-chair of the board for the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) and is a member of the audit committee of the Anglican Foundation of Canada.
