Shawna Hansen

Shawna has been specializing in the indirect tax area since 1990, starting at the Canada Revenue Agency in 1990 and in public practice. Her areas of specialty include GST/HST, PST and Caribbean VAT. She has spoken at the Commodity Tax Symposium, the Canadian Tax Foundation and Bahamas National Symposium for Tax Reform.

Shawna routinely provides practical advice to her clients on all matters of Canadian sales tax including application of various indirect taxes, assistance with compliance, recovery of overpaid tax and support with government audits. She also specializes in providing advice to both the public and private sector with indirect tax planning and compliance on Public Private Partner (P3) infrastructure projects located throughout Canada.
