Sandy is a semi-retired Chartered Professional Accountant, Licensed Insolvency Trustee, Chartered Insolvency Restructuring Professional and Insolvency Counsellor who resides in Lethbridge, Alberta and contracts his services to various businesses and insolvency firms, including Sheriff Sole and Madej Inc. and JW Weber & Associates Inc. In his professional public practice, Sandy has worked with individual and small business owners for over 39 years in the areas of financial planning, budgeting, financial and cash flow management, risk management and restructuring solutions. He provides a multi-disciplinary and faceted approach to the discussion about debt and financial literacy that is influenced by family history and the life events that individuals experience at various ages and life stages.

Sandy and his wife dedicate their spare time through Sparkplug Consulting Inc. to assisting individuals, community groups and not-for-profit organizations with holistic health, financial management and board governance initiatives. Sandy is a past director and president of the Alberta Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Professionals; a past director and board chair of the Family Centre Society of Southern Alberta; a past director of the Lethbridge Chamber of Commerce, Canadian Insolvency Foundation and Junior Achievement of Southern Alberta; and currently a director of the Lethbridge Therapeutic Riding Association.

Currently, Sandy is a volunteer with the CPA Canada Financial Literacy Program, the Speakers Bureau of Canada, and the CPA Alberta Volunteer Tax Preparation Clinic Program.
