Robert Strachan

Bob was the previous chair of the CPA Canada Board of Directors. He joined the board in January 2013, and has served as both vice chair (2013-2014) and chair (2014-2015). Bob was co-chair of the National Steering Committee overseeing the formation of CPA Canada in 2012.

In 2013, he retired from his management position in finance with the Capital Regional District (1986-2013), having held various senior management positions in the areas of financial and risk management, treasury, asset, management and taxation.

Since earning his CMA designation, Bob has become an active advocate for the CMA and CPA designations and the Canadian accounting profession. He served as a member of the board of directors for CMA British Columbia (1998-2005), including chair of the board (2001-2003). Bob also served as a member of the CMA Canada National board of directors (2006-2011), including chair of the board (2009-2011).

Bob is a strong advocate of giving back to the community and has contributed to a number of boards and committees, including the Royal Roads University MALT (Masters of Arts in Leadership) Program Board of Directors.
