Robert Parker is a retired Deloitte Enterprise Risk Management (ERS) partner where he had responsibility for the Firm’s Canadian privacy and business continuity practices and internal ERS risk management.  He is a past International President of the Information Systems Audit and Control Association and author and contributor to many of their publications. 

He was a founding member and served for 10 years on the AICPA-CPA-Canada – joint US-Canada Privacy Task Force that developed Generally Accepted Privacy Principles that provide a framework for assessing compliance with Canadian, US and other privacy legislation. He also served on the CPA’s Information Technology Advisory Committee where he authored two of their “Year 2000” publications.

He is currently a member of the Board of the University of Waterloo Centre for Information Integrity and Systems Assurance where he presents an annual “Environmental Scan” focusing on current events, including the impacts of advancements and changes in technology, financial, legislative and political issues, and other issues and their impact society and business.
