Richard Arthurs

Richard is originally from Halifax. He has over 20 years of experience in accounting, finance, risk management and internal audit. He has travelled to just under 50 countries during his career as the global director of Internal Audit and Risk Management for General Mills Inc., based in Minneapolis, U.S. He has managed a $2 billion revenue portfolio as the U.S. brand controller for Hamburger Helper, Old EL Paso and Progresso Soup. He spent three years in London, England as the CFO of General Mills U.K. and Ireland.

He is currently the vice-president of Risk, Audit and Compliance at Calgary-based Altalink — a Berkshire Hathaway Energy company. Richard is also on the Canadian Board of the Institute of Internal Auditors, he is the national chair of the Canadian Electrical Association — Internal Audit group and he facilitates the enterprise resource management (ERM) course for the Institute of Corporate Directors — Directors Education Program. Richard lives in Calgary with his wife and two children. He is an avid downhill skier, golfer and loves to travel.
