Rekha Kukreja

Rekha is director of sales tax at Scotiabank. For past 15 years, she has worked in both public practice and industry. Her experience has been exclusively on sales tax matters relating to the financial services industry. At Scotiabank, Rekha leads the sales tax team of the bank and its Canadian subsidiaries. Her team is also responsible for the oversight of the value added tax function in 48 countries where Scotiabank operates internationally.

Her key responsibilities include advising on all key transactions of the bank; participating in due diligence, amalgamation and divesture; approving and ensuring the timely completion of the annual GST return for the bank and subsidiaries; and obtaining approval of the ITC allocation methodology from CRA.
