Ranvir Chana
Ranvir is a Canadian lawyer, admitted to practice in both Ontario and Alberta, with over 12 years of U.S. tax experience.
Ranvir, who formerly led the U.S. Tax Services Group in Edmonton, now helps lead Deloitte Canada’s FATCA integrated market offering throughout Canada, in addition to being a key member of Deloitte Canada’s U.S. Tax M&A practice.
Ranvir primarily assists Canadian multi-national corporations and sovereign wealth funds with U.S. domestic corporate tax matters and treaty optimization issues. Ranvir’s focus relates to planning and structuring, in addition to both federal and state level compliance, to ensure integration with an overall global tax-effective strategy.
Ranvir has served various types of clients ranging from manufacturers, technology companies, real estate companies, private equity funds, financial institutions, asset managers, pension funds, and public and private companies.
He has a Master of Science in U.S. Taxation degree from Golden Gate University in California, a Bachelor of Law degree from Queen’s University, a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Alberta and has completed Parts I and II of Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada)’s In-depth Taxation courses.
