Pierre Mercille, M.Sc, LLB

Pierre is the senior legislative chief of the Sales Tax Division in the Department of Finance of Canada. Pierre joined the Sales Tax Division in 1998 and has occupied various policy and legislative positions over the years. Since 2003, Pierre has been responsible for overseeing the legislative responsibilities of the Sales Tax Division regarding GST/HST and for ensuring that government policy in this area is implemented effectively through legislative and regulatory amendments. Pierre holds a bachelor’s degree (B.Sc.) and a master’s degree (M.Sc.) in economic sciences, a bachelor’s degree in law (LLB) and is a member of the Quebec Bar.
