A partner, trust and transparency solutions leader, Peter is a risk assurance services partner leading the technology, entertainment and telecommunications sector in the Toronto office of PwC. He has more than 19 years of experience helping clients define and implement cost-effective risk management processes for information and operational systems. Peter specializes in risk management, the implementation of control frameworks, and the design and assessment of business process and information technology (IT) controls. He has been actively involved in engagements to help clients comply with the Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and NI 52-109 (CSOX) internal and disclosure controls frameworks. His key areas of focus include risk and control identification, and ongoing attestation frameworks. Throughout his career, Peter has overseen some of the largest, most complex multi-location controls assurance and advisory engagements in the Canadian market. His experience has been concentrated in the technology, entertainment, telecommunications and financial services industries. He has also taken a lead role in developing PwC’s global controls assurance approach for service organizations. Peter joined PwC in 1995 after graduating from the University of Toronto with a BCom degree. A CPA with a CA.IT specialist designation, he worked for a major Canadian bank’s treasury operations group in 2000 and taught accounting on a part-time basis at York University before returning to PwC in 2001.
