Paul Mason

Paul is a Principal who joined the staff of the International Public Sector Accounting Standards Board (IPSASB) in January 2014. Paul was the lead staff member on IPSAS 40, Public Sector Combinations. His current projects include Social Benefits and Non-Exchange Expenses. Paul previously worked for a number of local government organizations in the United Kingdom. Paul’s main roles in these organizations included the preparation of the financial statements and implementing financial systems. In 2007, Paul joined the staff of the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA). He led the development of the first set of accounting guidance for the UK local government to be based on international standards. He was also a member of the IPSASB’s task force that developed IPSAS 32, Service Concession Arrangements: Grantor and a member of the Federation of European Accountants’ (now Accountancy Europe) Public Sector Committee. Paul is a member of CIPFA.
