Nick Kirton

Nick is the chair of the board of the Canadian Investor Protection Fund and the audit committee chair for Essential Energy Services Ltd. (TSX) and Oronova Energy Inc. (TSXV).
Nick retired in 2004 after a 38-year career with KPMG LLP; he was elected to partnership in the firm in 1976. Subsequent to his retirement he has served on the boards of six other reporting issuers (in addition to the current ones noted above): Builders Energy Services Trust (TSX), Canexus Corporation (TSX), Gran Tierra Energy Inc. (TSX and NYSE American), Grande Cache Coal Corporation (TSX), Innicor Subsurface Technologies Inc. (TSX) and Result Energy Inc. (TSXV).
As well, he served a six-year term on the Board of Governors of the University of Calgary, including three years as chair of the audit committee.
