Michel St-Amant

Michel joined the Manitoba Department of Finance, Comptroller Division, as manager of accounting standards in 2011. He became the acting manager, Public Accounts, in 2015. Prior to being with the Department of Finance, he was the Public Sector Accounting Board (PSAB) project manager at the Department of Municipal Government, a position he accepted in 2007. Before joining the Department of Municipal Government, he worked at the Office of the Auditor General of Manitoba for four years, and the Auditor General of Canada for four years.

Michel is a CPA, CA with 25 years of experience in accounting and auditing in the public sector. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Manitoba. He also serves as a member of the PSAB task force for Asset Retirement Obligations.
