Michael Maier

Michael Maier is an award winning professor who has been recognized for teaching excellence at the University of Alberta as a two-time recipient of the McKenzie MBA Teaching Excellence Award. He is currently the Associate Dean for Master’s Programs in the Alberta School of Business. He was instrumental in the development of the first graduate degree program in Alberta that is accredited by CPA Alberta leading towards the CPA designation and has taught extensively in masters programs designed for senior level executives.

Michael has published in leading accounting and economics journals along with articles in accounting practitioner publications. Current research focuses on technology and decision making in accounting, banking, regulatory and market microstructure settings.
