Martin Ruben

Martin recently moved back to Canada after serving as the director of performance audit in the Office of the Auditor General in the Cayman Islands. He served in that position for more than eight years while also developing capacity in the financial function. Prior to his time in the Caribbean, he lived in Ottawa and worked with the Office of the Auditor General of Canada for almost 30 years. During his career, Martin led financial and performance audits in Canada, Cayman Islands, Bermuda, the United Nations in New York and UNESCO. Since returning to Canada, Martin has been consulting to the three levels of government in Canada and to government bodies throughout the world. As well, he is providing training in Canada and internationally in public sector finance and audit.

Martin attended the University of Manitoba and is a FCPA, FCGA. He has served on professional accounting and auditing bodies in Canada and on international standard setting bodies related to public sector governance. Over the years, he has also contributed articles and papers on public sector finance and governance.
