As a senior manager in Audit Innovation at Deloitte Canada, Malik Datardina leverages leading-edge technology and big data to create more efficient audit and audit IT processes. With more than 10 years of experience in information systems, risk and assurance, information security governance and audit data analytics, Malik analyzes disruptive technology such as blockchain, big data, Internet of Things, and cognitive computing to fundamentally transform the way audits are performed. By looking at how to "disrupt audit" and its data approaches, Malik helps Deloitte be more innovative on behalf of its clients. Malik is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA). He volunteers on CPA Canada's Information Management and Technology Advisory Committee, where he uses his skills to break down the latest tech trends into language the average accountant can digest. He is the assistant director for the University of Waterloo Centre for Information Integrity and Information System Assurance (UWCISA) and lectures at the University of Waterloo, teaching technology concepts to Master of Accounting students.
