Kym Fawcett

Kym has over 25 years’ experience in environment, sustainability, health and safety, regulatory compliance/permitting, and stakeholder engagement/Aboriginal affairs. She has a solid record of successfully developing and leading HSE&SD organizations and programs.

Kym began her career as an environmental consultant in 1990 until 2006. Her work during this time focused primarily on environmental impact assessments, environmental management, and regulatory permitting for a variety of natural resource sectors including, mining, oil sands, nuclear, forestry, and pulp and paper, with an emphasis on the oil and gas sector. In 2006, Kym joined ConocoPhillips as team lead, Oil Sands, Environment and Stakeholder Engagement. She served in this position until joining Enerplus in 2008 as the manager for Environment, Regulatory and Stakeholder Engagement, Oil Sands, transitioning in 2010 to her current position as the senior manager of Safety and Social Responsibility for Enerplus Corporation. Her department oversees all matters and activities pertaining to health, safety, environment, sustainability, regulatory, stakeholder engagement, HSE&SD education programs, and Aboriginal affairs.

Kym served as president of the Canadian Heavy Oil Association (CHOA) from 2011 to 2013. Currently, she serves on the Board of Directors for the CHOA and NAEM.
