Karyn A. Brooks

FCPA, FCA

Karyn retired in 2014 from BCE and Bell, Canada’s largest telecommunications company, where she held the role of senior vice-president and controller for 11 years. Since her retirement, Karyn has provided financial consulting services to a number of organizations. Prior to Bell, she held executive financial positions at Enbridge Inc. and TransCanada Corporation.

Karyn is a member of the joint IASB/FASB Transition Resource Group for IFRS 15 Revenue from contracts with customers. She is a past chair of the Board of Directors of FEI (Canada), where she was a member of the board from 2004 to 2011. Karyn sat on the Board of Trustees of Queen’s University from 2007 to 2014, and chaired the audit committee for five years. Currently, she is a member of the Board of Trustees and audit committees of Information Services Corporation, a public company headquartered in Regina, and The Calgary Zoological Society. Karyn holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Queen’s University.

Karyn was elected a fellow of CPA Ontario in 2009. She was named to Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 by the Women’s Executive Network in 2009. She was named by the Canadian Board Diversity Council to the 2013 Diversity 50, a group of diverse board-ready candidates. She was honoured to be the recipient of FEI Canada’s Distinguished Service Award in 2014.
