Juzar Pirbhai has expertise in institutional investing and financial services audit and consulting. He is a specialist in audit committee governance and enterprise risk.

As the head of Stakeholder Engagement and Enterprise Risk Management at the Canadian Public Accountability Board (CPAB), Juzar engages with corporate directors and executives of Canadian reporting issuers, investors, standard setters and other regulators on audit quality and governance and oversees CPAB’s enterprise risk program.

Over the past twenty years, Juzar has advised and collaborated with C-suite executives in England, Scotland, Chile and Canada on their strategies and plans, consulted with leading banks and insurance companies in Singapore and North America on their systems and controls, and shared governance and risk insights with corporate directors of public companies across Canada to accelerate business improvements.

He has worked on boards of a wide range of private infrastructure companies such as regulated electricity and water utilities, gas distribution networks, and airports, including Nieuport Aviation Infrastructure Partners, owner and operator of the Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport passenger terminal. Juzar believes in the importance of building strong communities and serves as a director on the board of the YMCA of Oakville.

Juzar graduated from McGill University with a BA in Honours Economics. He is a CA, CPA and CFA charterholder. His previous work experience includes Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan and Ernst & Young.
