Julie Bernier is Assistant Vice President – Compliance and Information Management at BDC. Mrs. Bernier is BDC’s Privacy Officer. She is also responsible for the enterprise Compliance function and the access to information office at BDC. Mrs. Bernier joined BDC in 2008 to assist in the implementation of the Corporate Project Management Office. Shortly thereafter she designed, implemented and since 2012 has led the enterprise-wide Compliance and Information Management function at BDC which meets industry standards in the financial sector. Before joining BDC, Mrs. Bernier acted as a consultant for more than 20 years and has extensive experience implementing major programs related to compliance, risk, business processes and technology, mostly for leading organizations in the financial sector. Mrs. Bernier also served as an independent Director and member of the Audit Committee of Loto-Quebec, a major provincial Crown Corporation, for 5 years. She holds a MBA, with a major in project management, from HEC and the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors of Canada.
