Ian is a principal with the Accounting Standards Board (AcSB) in Toronto. He is chair of the AcSB International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) Advisory Committee and is leading the AcSB’s implementation of IFRS for Canadian publicly accountable enterprises. He is also working on amendments to accounting standards related to the current economic environment.
For many years he has been responsible for supporting the AcSB’s liaison with the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB). He has also been a member of the project team to develop a globally converged conceptual framework for financial reporting. Previously, he developed Canadian standards for recognition and measurement of financial instruments, based on those of the IASB and the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB). He is a member of the executive committee of the American Accounting Association’s International Accounting Section. Prior to joining the AcSB staff, Ian was with Deloitte in Toronto and in London, England.
