Hélène Marquis

Hélène is the director of the Science and Technology Division of the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) Directorate. She is a biologist with a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Eco-toxicology.

Prior to joining the CRA, she worked in the private sector in engineering consulting firms where she conducted environmental assessment studies, and in the agri-food industry doing research in plant biochemistry.

Hélène has worked in the SR&ED program since 1998, originally as a research and technology advisor in both the Quebec and Ontario regions and, as of 2004, in headquarters. She managed the National Technology Sector Specialist Group from 2006 until her appointment as director of the Policy Development Division in 2008. She was appointed to the position of director of the Science and Technology Division in April 2013.
