Heather is the Mining Sector leader in Toronto and specializes in providing risk and assurance services to public companies in the mining industry.   

Heather leads several external audits for US and Canadian public mining companies.  In this role, Heather has extensive experience with financial reporting requirements including IFRS and non-GAAP measures.    Heather is also the internal audit and internal control co-source provider for several companies and also assists companies with accounting for complex transactions and adoption of new standards, capital market transactions, enterprise risk management and regulatory compliance with the Extractive Sector Transparency Measures Act and Conflict-Free Gold.

Heather has significant international experience leading teams from around the world, and also completed a three-month work assignment with KPMG South Africa. 

Heather is a member of Women in Mining Canada’s Board of Directors and leads KPMG’s initiatives to support women in the mining industry.  She has participated in the joint PDAC CPA Canada Joint Taskforce on Financial Reporting issues relating to the Mining Industry and is a guest lecturer at Schulich School of Business Mining MBA on Finance Fundamentals.

Heather is a Chartered Professional Accountant, Chartered Accountant and has a Bachelor of Commerce from Queen’s University.
