Erin Taylor

Erin joined Sun Life Financial as vice-president, Finance, and chief accountant in the autumn of 2015. She leads the Central Accounting team and is responsible for accounting advisory, consolidated financial and regulatory reporting and internal controls over financial reporting. In this role, Erin oversees the planning and implementation of new International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

Prior to Sun Life Financial, Erin held the position of vice-president, Accounting Policy and Advocacy, at Manulife Financial, providing accounting advice on strategic and capital initiatives and the implementation of new accounting policies for the organization globally. Erin began her career with KPMG in the audit practice, and over a span of 11 years specialized in IFRS. She developed and published the firm’s first edition of Insights into IFRS, a comprehensive guide to the application of these standards.

Erin has participated in many Canadian industry forums and conferences, sharing her extensive knowledge in IFRS. She is a current member of the Canadian Life and Health Insurance Association Committee addressing the implications of IFRS 17, and a past member of several organizations, including the CPA Investment Funds Advisory Group and the HUB Global Insurance Group.

Erin holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University and is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA).
