Eric Simmons

Eric is a senior manager in EY’s assurance practice with extensive experience dealing with companies in the mining industry during his more than 10 years at the firm. He recently completed a three-year rotation in EY’s National Professional Practice group, where he specialized in technical accounting standards development, participated in multiple global subject matter expert groups and supported audit engagement teams and clients with accounting advisory services.

With continuous exposure to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and US generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), he is known for his technical accounting acumen amongst his many audit and non-audit clients. Eric speaks regularly at EY’s financial reporting developments executive sessions and is a current supporting member of CPA Canada’s Mining Industry Task Force on IFRS.
