Elaine Roper

Elaine is a Partner with Odgers Berndtson, and serves as the Head of the Canadian Board Practice. She brings over 35 years of extensive senior management experience to Odgers, having worked with numerous organizations throughout North America, Europe, and Asia within the technology, financial services, non-profit sectors, and in public/private partnership organizations. Her particular expertise lies in corporate and board governance, executive talent management and search, and organizational development. Elaine has extensive board experience garnered over the last 20+ years. Prior board leadership roles include: Vice Chair at the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM), and Board Chair at the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario (HSFO). While on their boards, she has chaired the Governance and Human Resources Committees at Canada Games Council (CGC) and Niagara 2022 Canada Summer Games Host Society, HSFO, ROM, Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada, the Textile Museum of Canada, and Bishop’s University. Elaine has also been a member on Finance & Audit, fundraising and mission committees, and has chaired CEO search committees on most of these boards.

She holds a Bachelor's degree in German and Business Administration from Bishop’s University, and has completed the ICD accreditation. She has served as a Director in Residence for the Rotman School of Business Not for Profit Directors’ program, and on numerous panels and conducted workshops for Women Get on Board, and Women General Counsels of Canada, ICD, ACPA and AAPA among others.
