Ed is a Canadian tax partner and is the practice leader of the Western Canadian Tax Incentives Practice. As a Canadian tax partner with over 25 years of experience, Ed’s expertise focuses on assisting companies in identifying and assessing tax incentive programs, including Scientific Research and Experimental Development and Interactive Digital Media tax credits. Ed and his team help companies apply for available government funding options and assisting clients with project planning, preparation, filing, and audit defence of their tax incentive programs.

The Tax Incentives program is Canada’s single largest federal program that supports research and development activities across the nation. With his in-depth knowledge of the program, Ed has assisted companies in identifying projects eligible for SR&ED tax credits, critiquing their project descriptions, and helping to submit a complete investment tax credit claim. In addition, he also provides SR&ED planning services such that companies maximize future SR&ED claims. With his extensive experience in accounting and taxation, he has served over 350 clients in the power technology, hardware, software, biotechnology, food processing and telecommunications sectors at various stages in their research and development life cycle.

Outside of his work commitments, Ed is an active member in the business community and is one of KPMG's representatives at the annual AceTech Symposium, a not-for-profit organization created by CEOs for the advancement of CEOs of second-stage tech companies.
