Dennis Gannon

As a vice-president of Advisory at Gartner, Dennis fields inquiries every day from CFOs and other senior finance leaders for his perspective on how to best run their functions and help the organization maximize returns on capital. Dennis spends his days both working with Gartner research teams to address the shared challenges of finance leaders and bringing that research to life in one-on-one and group interactions with Gartner clients.

Since joining Gartner in 2004, Dennis has become sought after by finance leaders for his ability to connect the dots between finance functions and bring a long-term perspective to executive challenges. He regularly facilitates roundtable discussions with finance leaders and is a frequent speaker at Gartner conferences.

Previously, Dennis consulted professional sports franchises on customer retention strategies and taught high school at an alternative program for at-risk youth. He earned an MBA with honours in Finance and Sports Business from the University of Oregon, and also holds an M.A. in Philosophy of Science and a B.S. in Mathematics from Virginia Tech. Dennis is based in Portland, Oregon.
