Debbie Baxter

CPA, CMA, ICD.D

Debbie has more than 25 years of experience working with businesses to implement change – from changes in real estate utilization to changes in culture or technology. She is a client advocate with the unique ability to both recommend the strategies that drive the desired business outcome and oversee adoption of the change.

Debbie is the national leader, Work+Place, and vice-president, Corporate Real Estate, for Deloitte Canada, responsible for working with clients to ideate, design and implement their Modern Workplace strategy projects.

She is most passionate about the "Future of Work" — working with clients to adapt their business to the trends evident in our economy and society that will challenge our existing infrastructure and drive the need for a new way of thinking about work environments.

In previous roles, Debbie oversaw all aspects of corporate real estate, operations and corporate responsibility. Key accomplishments include agile workspace implementation, alternative work arrangement projects, solar rooftop implementation, implementation of LEED building standards and many other workplace technology, building renovation and workspace redesign projects that drove tremendous cultural and financial value for the business.

Debbie’s efforts have been recognized on a national level. In 2013, Debbie was named to Women’s Executive Network’s Most Powerful Women in Canada: Top 100 in the Trailblazer Category. Debbie was also the recipient of the 2013 Clean50 award, which honours outstanding contributors to sustainable development and clean capitalism in Canada. She was also awarded the 2011 Green Living Award for Excellence in Corporate Responsibility.

With a background in operations and technology, Debbie is also a CPA, CMA and holds a Corporate Directors ICD.D designation.
